WHAT TO DO IN BELMOPAN

The dense habitat is known as a secondary broadleaf forest, which benefits many birds and wildlife, including the shy and secretive “tiger cat” or jaguarundi and black howler monkeys.

 

This popular getaway is located just two miles from the capital city of Belmopan in the Cayo District at the intersection of the Hummingbird and Western Highways.

You don’t even need wheels to get there as buses stop right outside the park!

St. Herman’s Blue Hole is both a natural wonder and a national park.

 

Located just off the Hummingbird Highway near Belmopan City.

You can easily take the bus, drive, or hire a taxi.

 

It is about 15 minutes from Belmopan - south on the Hummingbird Highway.

 Located close to the town of San Ignacio, the ATM Cave is the most popular cave tour in Belize.

 

Its vast network of underground chambers is known as being a treasure trove for archaeologists but also for its diverse ecosystem of bats, crabs, crayfish, and tropical fish.

The ATM Cave may today be known as a popular tourist attraction and a great place for caving adventures

 

It is known by the Mayas as the "Cave of the Stone Sepulcher".
